Halloween is a holiday that people celebrate every year. They eat candy, dress up, and have a good time. However, many problems have occurred due to celebrating it. This year people are preparing to stay safe, but also have fun.

55% of parties being thrown on Halloween are hosted by minors and that brings plenty of worries and concerns among parents and other adults (rightstep.com). Some adults, however, are hoping for everyone to have fun on Halloween this year.

Officer Rick Clausing says how Halloween can be a holiday for anyone as long as they are taking the correct precautions.

“Hope everyone has fun. Age doesn’t matter as long as people are having fun and staying safe,” Clausing said.

There are not many rules put in place for minors on Halloween night. The lack of regulation has caused significant problems among children. Sophomore Isabel Chatfield talks about what rules she thinks should be implemented on Halloween.

“Just making sure that every kid who is out knows who they’re with and that they know them well,” Chatfield says.

Kids and adults have their own views on Halloween and how to celebrate it while also staying safe. Clausing says how he works to keep people safe on Halloween.

“We do our best to release as much safety information on social media as we can. We also are always out patrolling neighborhoods,” Clausing said.

Kids have their own views too. McRay gives his opinion on the safest way to celebrate Halloween.

“I think the safest way to celebrate Halloween is to spend it with family and friends,” McRay says.

Chatfield also gives her opinion on the safest way to celebrate Halloween.

“Hanging out at a friend’s house or going trick or treating,” Chatfield says.

Halloween is a holiday that many people celebrate all over the world. The holiday can be fun and people can create lots of memories, but staying safe should be a priority when going out and enjoying the festivities.
