On Saturday, Oct. 3, nearly 200 people gathered for a unique cause. At the Memorial Park by Raymore Elementary, a Walk for Isaiah was held, which helped to raise money to search for a cure in honor of the four year-old boy with a terminable disease called Vanishing White Matter disease, Isaiah Jones. At the walk, Isaiah’s mother Bethany Jones welcomed participants as they began the walk, and refreshments and pit stops were provided. Although Isaiah was not at the walk itself, he made his appearance afterwards just in time for the balloon release. Hundreds of balloons were released for the little boy. After the balloon release, the crowd of participants sang “Happy Birthday” to him, and tears were streaming down faces as he gave a smile up to his mother at the sound of people singing his name. The day was one to remember for the Jones family and all who came out to support them.
