To kickoff the new school year, the RayPecNow Editor staff took a trip down to University of Missouri-Columbia, to participate in a workshop hosted by the Missouri Educators Journalism Association. The workshop, offered to journalism students statewide consisted of two lectures, given by Professors Katherine Reed and Ernest Perry, aimed to inform student journalists and their advisors on how to become more impartial, sensitive writers. While there, the editors also were taken on a tour around the nationally acclaimed school, and given insight to how the school of journalism works by a student panel.

“MJEA was a great learning experience, I’m excited to see how we implement what we learned into our program.” said senior editor, Cassie Allen.

The Editors are planning on taking another trip down to the campus in the Spring for the State Contest, J-Day.
