Yearbook earns state’s highest honor
The 2013-2014 edition of The Panther yearbook won the All-Missouri award from
the Missouri All Scholastic Press Association in partnership with the journalism school at the
University of Missouri, for the first time in Raymore-Peculiar High School history. The yearbook
staff was notified in September of the honor.
The All-Missouri award signifies the highest achievement possible at the state level,
and is critiqued on aspects from photography and copy, to design and theme. The book
was grouped in the large school category and scored 465 out of 500 points possible on the
evaluation.
The staff will be honored at the spring state contest in April at the University of Missouri-
Columbia. The yearbook was lead by junior Abby Beck, Editor in Chief and assistants junior
Paige Lehman with sophomores Cassie Allen and Rachel Hutchings. The yearbook is advised
by Stefani Russ
“I feel incredibly gratifying to know that all the hours in class and long work nights were
worth it. This book was my life for a whole year, and I love knowing other’s appreciate it.” said
The product created by the Beck and the staff is not only a yearbook containing hard
work, but a document containing information from the help of others.
“It is such a great feeling to see your students’ hard work pay off in the end. We really
appreciate all the support we receive from the administration, student body and faculty to create
the best book we can each year.” said Russ.
