This fall, the high school’s very first performance in the new performing arts is coming up. The cast and crew of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat are currently in their last weeks of rehearsal, known as tech week. These weeks are some of the most stressful, but some of the best weeks of the entire process. Tech week is usually the week before the opening performance where the cast and crew come together to finally put the show together and finalize it. This is when dress rehearsals start happening, and the props start being used fully.
Amelia Burton, a freshman newbie in the musical, explains how she feels about tech week.
“I’m excited to see the show finally come all together but I am scared I’m not prepared enough and it’s really stressful,” said Burton.
Burton shared similar ideas with freshman Eliza Martin about this performance. Since this is their very first ever high school musical, it is also their very first tech week.
“I think this week is going very well and you can definitely see the show progressing and getting better with each rehearsal, and to quote Mr. Schnake, ‘the show got better tonight,’” stated Martin.
Burton and Martin are so excited to be in their first high school musical together, and cannot wait for the performance this upcoming weekend with their amazing cast members.
