Spirit days are a fun way to raise the moral of students. They are created for a multitude of reasons, mostly for fundraisers and to simply raise the spirit. Student Senate sells leis for Hawaiian day, and sponsors hat day to fundraise.  These fundraisers either go to Student Senate so that the group can host events such as dances, or they go towards charities such as Polar Plunge. This week, Student Senate has hosted the spirit days leading up to courtwarming, and students are excited. Spirit always helps to lighten the mood of a monotonous day.

“I participate in school days because I feel like our school needs more unity. We need to help to develop students’ characters. Surrounding people with spirit will help them feel like they are in a more fun environment. It keeps high school from seeming like a prison cell.” said junior Jeana Scott.

Many people like spirit days, such as Scott. She dresses up for spirit days whenever she can, and says it helps the school environment. The more people that dress up for spirit days, the better the school environment becomes. They help to support both the school, and the students. Spirit days give students something exciting to wake up to.
