Many students need different options for their different learning styles and that’s why we offer programs at our Lead Center. The Lead Center is eleven minutes away from the high school making it easy for the students to drive there. The Lead Center offers many programs such as Carpentry, Electrical ,Enterprise & Design, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Heavy Equipment Operators, Machining (CIMM), and the Teacher Academy. Each program has a different learning objective that the students work towards.
When it comes to the application process, it is quite simple. One of the administrators sends out an email with an application form linked on it allowing easy access to the students. The form mentions all the programs and goes into depth about what each program offers. The student must fill out the form with their name, grade and their chosen program. After that, they will submit the application and wait for a response.
Many students who attend the Lead Center always have a great time and end up returning the following year. Junior Max Jester attends the Machining Program at the Lead Center, where he does online engine lathes mills, as well as CNC lays and mills.
“I like the Lead Center because it gives me good opportunities straight out of high school,” stated Jester.
All of the programs set up many kids for what they want to pursue outside of high school and give them an idea of what that would look like. That is one of the many reasons students choose to attend the Lead Center.
“The environment at the Lead Center is really mellow and calming,” stated Jester.
The Lead Center has a calm and welcoming environment, allowing students to focus on their work and concentrate. The students work together often to complete projects and accomplish different things. This allows for students to branch out, meet new, people and potentially make close friends.
“While being at the Lead Center, I have made two close friends, Fenn Marsh and Luke Busarard. We all worked together and helped each other out on different projects,” stated Jester
The Lead Center offers many options and is a great opportunity for many students. They can explore their options outside of high school and make friends along the way, all while being in an environment that will benefit their education.
