Prepping for the Future

The college fair is an exciting thing for students. Students are able to ask questions they need, and learn more as college is coming up fast.
College is an exciting idea for some teens, but it can also be nerve racking. The idea of having freedom is always a good thing. For most, the college fair causes stress to the students involved.

“The most stressful part of the college fair is they don’t give us enough time to talk with all the colleges we are interested in, so I don’t get to know the answers to some of my questions or visit any other colleges I may be interested in,” said Senior Cassia Krieg.

The college fair is not just stressful on students. It is very beneficial to students looking to go to college in their future, but it is always a scary thing leaving family.

“It makes kids start thinking about what they want to do with their lives after high school. Maybe that’s through doing research beforehand or talking to representatives at the fair, it just helps them see that it’s real and it’s happening soon,” said Whitney Mikkelson

There were plenty of colleges at the fair looking to help students learn about their future. Asking these questions that have been on these students’ minds is very relieving to know the answer to.

“I had the most fun just being able to talk to all the different people and ask the questions I had been thinking about,” said Junior Hannah Oldham.

The college fair is a difficult thing to put together. Getting representatives to sign up is a struggle, including the representatives that show up unannounced. Overall, it was a success.

“The College and Career Fair is stressful for me, but as long as no one else feels like it is stressful, then it’s a success. The day of the fair was exciting because I got to see everything come together and see kids talking to people and getting excited about their futures, so that felt good,” said Oldham.

The college fair is a handful of nerves, and excitement for students looking to further their future after highschool. All of the students’ questions and concerns that have been on their minds are answered.
