The ships have sailed and The Pirates of Penzance is making it’s voyage to the theatres stage.

Unlike the previous production, ‘Much Ado About Nothing’, this year’s winter play offers the audience a new form of entertainment.

“It’s a lot of movement, every ten seconds there’s something happening and there’s not a moment where there is nothing going on,” said sophomore Nate Thurman.

The Pirates of Penzance is the first musical of the school year and has a sense of humour throughout the show.

“It’s an operetta, which means it’s total classic music,” said junior Malone Blaich.

Not only is it the first musical of the year, it also happens to be the last show together for some.

“It’s an opportunity to have a last show with the seniors.” said Blaich.

This play has a lot more action than the previous one this year. There will never be a dull moment throughout the play.

“A lot more stuff to react to, so you have to pay close attention to who’s speaking,” said freshman Devyn Philips.

The cast will have an idea by the end of this play on what they want to fix and perfect their mistakes.

“I want to make the next one better.” said Thurman.

Students can reserve their tickets for opening night on February 4th and attend the show till the 7th.
