Basketball is in a new era, and we are very excited to see what the Panthers can do this year. Our new coach, George Goode, is ready to lead our Panther basketball team to victory this season. Coach Goode is originally from Raytown, Missouri. He played at a collegiate level at the University of Louisville, played professional basketball overseas and has entered his 5th year of coaching.
“I coach because I love the game and have a huge passion for basketball,” said Coach Goode.
From playing overseas to coaching the MOKAN basketball team, Goode has a vast amount of experience when it comes to the game of basketball. MOKAN is a club basketball team that has produced many successful basketball players like University of Missouri’s Michael Porter Jr. and Oklahoma State University’s Trae Young. Freshman Jeremiah Hull is on the basketball team and speaks on Goode’s coaching.
“Coach Goode has helped MOKAN in many different ways from helping the team with our defense to helping us work together,” said Hull.
And it’s not just our coaching staff that is ready for the season, our players are too! Freshman Mac Northcraft is also on the basketball team and speaks on how Goode inspires his players.
“Coach Goode is really good and he pushes us to be better and work hard,” said Northcraft.
Coach Goode has already helped our team in many ways, but we won’t forget the legacy that Coach Jermain has left on Ray-Pec basketball. As Northcraft knew Coach Jermain very well, thanks to his older brother, he shares that Jermain helped the team grow as more than just a basketball team and more like a family.
The basketball team and school is ready to see Coach Goode lead our basketball team to victory and help our Panthers grow individually and as a team.
