Ray-Pec is a big district that contains several but minimal spacing for the students. However,there are rumors of more space being added and opportunities that have been mentioned,introducing what has been started,the bond issue. While we all have questions, and anticipate what is going to happen,there will be an answer provided to us on April 2016 to let us know if the bonds issue was passed.

The change that needs to be made will be rejoining the high school to one building, and the North building will become a second middle school. This change needs to happen because not only will it be beneficial it will also allow students to get their full time of education needed.

Making the high school one building will allow students to have more time in class for education instead of taking eight minutes for students to travel. Not only that but when the weather is bad and there are busses for traveling students,it takes an extra additional 5 minutes just to get to class and by that time the lesson has already started. Not to mention the fact that when students are traveling there isn’t as much security as there should be. There are two security guards that can’t be expected to have eyes on all hundreds of students. There shouldn’t be that concern of if students are going be in fights,get bullied or harassed, and in this case with traveling there is.  

Principal Mark Cook has agreed that this whole transition will be a good thing for everybody all together. Not only will it benefit the students, it will also benefit the teachers that are starting their lessons without interruptions.

“I like it all. I think that especially the 6, 7 and 8th grade center will be beneficial for the 6th graders,” said Cook.

Combining buildings and making the high school one, is going to have a great outcome that includes having safer procedures for all students to follow, more room for the students to interact, and one place to be in to get their learning. There will be different ways for the student drivers that will help keep away from conflicts with the middle school,and there will definitely be more security with the younger students being around the high school.

“ Well of course there will be security especially for the high school because they are older and they are also driving” said Cook.

Meanwhile, the students now wish they did not have to travel, however the students in the future will not have to worry about traveling and getting muddy if the bond passes. Even though the wait makes us anxious, we will soon get our response that we all have been waiting for from the voters. We need this bond issue to pass for the better, and for a more organized improvement of the Ray-Pec school district.
