The chaos behind homecoming

With homecoming week just passing, students are finally getting a break from the chaos. Senior Mallory Levens is very involved in her school. Levens is active in varsity cheer, student senate, student leadership team, the international baccalaureate program, and she was a homecoming candidate. All of these responsibilities made for a busy week for Levens.

Levens had a lot of pressure going into this week, as she had to coordinate multiple activities.

“All of the stress. That is because of all of the things I have to do and collaborating with a lot of people.” said Levens.

The thing she kept in mind was to just take it slow and not let the stress overwhelm her.

“I take it one step at a time and know what all needs to be done.” said Levens.

Her teacher and student senate supervisor, Jeff Moore, knew that she could handle the authority they gave her because of her character.

“She just has a very bubbly personality, she’s kind and nice to everybody, and hardworking.” said Moore.

Although Levens has more accountabilities than the usual high schooler, her main focus is still what the average teenage girl’s focal point is.

“Trying to figure out what all of my plans are and figuring out what to wear is what is most important.” said Levens.

Levens’ favorite part of all homecoming week is seeing the spirit students bring to school and the football game.

“All of the spirit and seeing how much people participate in it is the best part.” said Levens.

Moore feels Levens will have a successful life after high school due to her personality.

“I think Mallory is going to have a bright future because of the hard work she puts into school.” said Moore.

At the end of the week, Levens feels thankful to be apart of, in her opinion, a successful homecoming. Her events have slowed down and she is getting somewhat of a rest. Her teachers are excited to see what this week of experience and challenges prepared her for and how it will benefit her in the future.
