Daniels’ duo dominates
February 5, 2016
The bond of brothers is something that many believe can never be broken for virtually all of their lives Caleb and Logan Daniels have been side by side. With the two brothers only being a year apart, there is very little room for separation. Caleb the oldest of the two is the more logical, left brained thinker, stays involved with debate and politics. Meanwhile, Logan is more interested in arts and is involved with theatre, and forensics.
Logan enjoys the competitiveness that comes with being in forensics, along with the art element that allows him to display his ability in various ways ranging from uber dramatic acting to subtle relaxed animation.
“The competitions are just really fun, and the process of finding your own piece and cutting it to perfection is what I enjoy most,” said sophomore Logan Daniels.
By no means do the Daniels’ brothers try to be the same, in fact they give a conscious effort to be different from one another.
“My brother has always done debate, and I just really wanted to do something completely different from him,” said Logan
Caleb Daniels has a deep passion for debate and is never lacking a rebuttal. The art of argumentation drives him to continue, participating in competitions and prevailing as one of the school’s best debaters.
¨I just really love the competitions and my desire to win keeps me working, doing as much research I can over a topic, which along with helping me win it expands my knowledge and makes me an overall smarter person,” said senior Caleb Daniels.
The brothers have been a team for pretty much their entire lives so when Caleb’s original partner was going to be out for a competition, he did not hesitate to ask younger brother to compete alongside with him.
¨Competing with him was really fun, initially I really had no idea what to say but he guided me through it and it turned out pretty well,¨ said Logan
Caleb enjoyed the time he was able to spend competing with his brother and showing him the ropes.
¨It really wasn’t something he understood or was a part of, so it was really cool to work together with him on it, and we did really well together, just because we’ve been working as a team for basically forever,¨ said Caleb.
After advancing to the semifinals together it was clear the Daniel’s brothers do make a very good team and although they share very different passions they are always willing to lend a helping hand to one another, because nothing can break the bond between brothers.
