NKC Tournament Win
The varsity boys basketball team competed in the North Kansas City tournament championship Friday, Jan. 23 against Park Hill South. The entire tournament proved exciting for the team, as tough games and competition showed exactly what the team excelled at, and what needed work on.
“Park Hill South is one of the best teams in our conference. All of the teams that we will be playing against in our conference games are powerhouse basketball teams, and they will all be tough. People need to understand we have around 10 Division 1 athletes in our conference that we need to play,” said head coach Scott Jermain.
While the tournament was an exciting victory for the panthers, it was only a preview of what is to come.
“We start our conference play [Jan 30], and it will be even more exciting than the tournament, to say the least,” said Jermain.
Moving from a buzzer beater in the semi-finals to a tournament win against Park Hill South, conference play is sure to excite basketball fans from across Cass County.
The final score of the championship game against Park Hill South was 54-48.
