Christmas time is a time of giving, and not just within families. People don’t realize others have problems during the holidays. However, some students have decided to give back this year. Several clubs throughout the district are coming together to make miracles happen and help people in need.

The Student Leadership Team, for example, went to Southeast Enterprises Workshop. What they did was help the disabled have their own Christmas party. The SLT members served food, talked, and even danced with them! The joy SLT brought was outstanding and really reflected positive messages on to the members. Many students realized that helping others during the holidays is very important because not only are you helping others but also you’re helping yourself become a better person.

Danny Grossman said that if someone did this for her she would be very grateful. She saw that the disabled were unfortunate than most people and that was what made her want to help them.

Other clubs such as SADD, FCCLA, and Student Senate did other activities to help people during the holidays. This includes the annual Polar plunge, which raises money for Special Olympics. Canned food drives, to help families in need of food. And Adopt-a-Family, to help those who may not be able to afford Christmas presents for their family.

Clubs throughout the district will continue to help give back to families and the community throughout the years.
