Every chiefs season the stadium is loud and the parking lot is full. Last year in the playoffs the Chiefs shutout the Texans winning 30-0. This year the team not only made the playoffs but they ended the year going 12-4, making first round bye, and taking home field advantage.

Having season tickets and being a fan ever since he can remember. Math teacher Alan Downing explains how the Chiefs did this year.

“I feel like they’ve had a pretty good year. They started off a little mediocre kind of been their thing  the last couple of years and they have progressively gotten better throughout the year,” said Alan Downing

In week 4 the Chiefs were slammed by the Steelers 43-14. After that they won five games in a row. On top of that the team went on to go undefeated in the division and walk into the playoffs with the best special team unit that included rookie Tyreek Hill.

“The lost to Pittsburgh, was a big motivator for them, they got thumped pretty good, then they started figuring things out from there. Another big game was losing the game to Tennessee, ever since then their offense has clicked a lot better, they haven’t been as conservative with the balls,” said Downing.

Being the daughter of Aaron Crittendon, who is a former chiefs player. Alonah Crittendon explains who has influenced the Chiefs this season.

“Eric Berry how he came back through all the chemo it helped him be strong and help the team out and get the team to where they’re at now,” said  Crittendon.

Every team has a player that people see in the news, article, and online. For the Chiefs, people hear about the team, fan base, tailgating and how passionate the fans are.

“They come together for a common goal, they don’t seem to have any players that are me players to the team, everyone is team first, that helps contribute to a lot of success,” said Downing

Kansas City is no other city, the fans are passionate, lose or win. They take pride, they are not violent. Throughout the year, Kansas City has been bold red, Union station glows red, fans attend Arrowhead, it is like a Chiefs Kingdom.
